You are standing in the middle of the upper balcony in row "X". Above you is a good view of the dome, which is a parabolic reflector. It is 64 feet wide by 10 feet deep and is used to reflect the sound from the stage to the audience. Note how the theater is designed for sound, hence the rounded ceiling and walls.  The stage is like the small end of a megaphone, broadcasting sound into the auditorium.
